Three Belgian ecosystems – HR Tech Valley, B-Hive and Scale-Ups.eu - have signed a partnership to tackle talent issues in Finance and scaleups. ‘Digitalization has an enormous impact on the skillset required for jobs in the financial service industry’, explains Ellen Thijs of B-Hive, a platform that brings together major banks, insurers and market infrastructure players. ‘Our members are in need of solutions that help them attract and develop the people with the right skillsets.’
‘The same holds for scaleups’, says Ludovic Ampe of the Scaleup ecosystem Scale-Ups.eu. ‘Attracting the right talent is crucial for scaleups to deliver the ambitious growth plans, we estimate that our 37 scale-ups have over 300 open job positions’
Because of the similarities in their talent challenge, B-Hive and Scale-Ups.eu jointly reached out to the HR Tech Valley ecosystem.
‘Technology driven evolutions– like the evolution of the financial sector and the explosion of tech scaleups – pose talent challenges that are extremely difficult to meet with traditional HR methodologies, processes and concepts’, explains Jochen Bessemans, Community Manager of HR Tech Valley. ‘Within our community we combine the knowledge of HR technology providers and HR visionaries. When B-Hive and Scale-Ups.eu reached out to us, it was a no-brainer that we would team up to see how HR Tech can play a role in tackling the HR challenges they meet.’
The partnership between HR Tech Valley, B-Hive and Scale-Ups.eu entails two projects in 2018. One of them is the creation of a pilot concept on the combined use of innovative HR Tech to match talent with financial institutions and scaleups. The second project will be the creation of an HR Tech track at the SuperNova conference organized by Scale-Ups.eu and Flanders DC in Antwerp (Belgium) from 27 to 30 September.
