Last week (September 19 to 21, 2017) HR Tech Valley was at Zukunft Personal, the biggest HR trade fair in Germany. We shared a booth with members Actonomy and Thalento® and we welcomed three other members (Beeple, Facelytix and Roger) for pitches on our stand.
During the three days of the event, our community manager Jochen Bessemans got inspired and made 4 short vlogs.
Do HR people visit trade fairs?
A constant of the three days at Zukunft Personal was that mornings were a lot busier than the afternoons. For a big fair (over 400 exhibitors divided over 4 halls) that’s strange, because you need quite some time if you really want to explore what’s cooking – which is after all the ‘raison d’être’ of a trade fair and why you visit them. But is that the case for HR people?
Advice when visiting an HR trade fair
There is one area at HR trade fairs that deserves your attention. An area where you tap into the undercurrent of society and employees, the undercurrent which pushes HR to evolve. Find out which one in this video.
The Data issue
From startups like CruncHR to corporates like SAP/Successfactors, an increasing number of companies is jumping the data bandwagon. Most rightfully so, says Jochen Bessemans. HR should be all about data.
We need more women in HR Tech
It is a cliché, but it is oh so true: there are more women than men in HR. You even see it at events like Zukunft Personal where ladies need to cue to go to the restrooms and men don’t. At the same time most people at the booths of HR Tech companies (and certainly most founders) are male. We do need more gender diversity in both worlds.
